It’s summer, and while we’ve yet to spot a mosquito here in the Lower East Side, it’s safe to assume that they’re still a nuisance for the rest of the country. CNN has a roundup of the different methods for keeping the bloodsuckers at bay. Perhaps not surprisingly, high-tech isn’t the way to go – those electric zappers also kill bugs that you might want for your garden, ultrasonic gadgets simply don’t work at all, and carbon dioxide devices can cost thousands of dollars – but they do recommend DEET and plenty of common sense.
