Wal-Mart Selling iPod Shuffle Mini

By

Reading time 1 minute

CNet is reporting that Wal-Mart has begun shipping small quantities of the iPod mini to select outlets, possibly heralding a full-fledged adoption of the iPod line as a complement to its own flash player and music store. If nothing else, it is a sign of the iPod’s complete transition to a commodity, branded product first, and a technological nerd gadget second. Whatever you think of Wal-Mart—whether devilish idol of all that is unholy about capitalism or just the multi-headed sentient cancer spurting forth from a humming black obelisk in the heart of Arkansas—there’s no denying they move a lot of product.
