Who has tim to actually visit places anymore? Not me. Too much stuff to do that doesn’t involve curiosity or exercise. That’s why these Google Maps “Worldwide Carpets” area rugs are so perfect.

There’s L.A., or Vegas, or anywhere really. It’s all based on bird’s eye satellite imagery culled form Google Maps, which designer David Hanaeur repeats and repeats to make unique carpet patterns. [View as one page]

Hanaeur sells the rugs in boutique shops and on his website for about $500 apiece. That’s a bit more than I paid for my chic brown and blue number at Target, but it’s not that expensive compared to those loftier Oriental numbers.
