We’ve been logging a lot of hours in the air lately, and while we wait patiently for airlines here to finally start offering WiFi inflight, over at PC Magazine, Lance Ulanoff muses wistfully about all the tech that could be found in airplanes these days, but isn’t. To be fair, the cash-strapped airlines (which except for JetBlue are hopelessly behind the technology curve), just don’t have the money to offer what he wishes they had in their planes: power outlets in coach seats, high-speed Internet access at every seat, keyboards that emerge from underneath tray tables, Flash ROM slots in armrests, or even basic things to make flights safer like using sensors to make sure every passenger is buckled up for take-offs and landings.
