White Box Robotics Upgrades

By

Reading time 1 minute

We ve talked about White Box Robotics before, but now they re releasing an advanced robot that is not just a PC case with wheels. The company is teaming up with Frontline Robotics in order to add advanced navigation and sound/video recognition functionality to their barebones PC-BOT. The 9-series can hold Mini-ITX motherboard, laptop hard and optical drives, as well as a few webcams and whatever else you can stuff into its bays.

There are going to be two flavors released May 10, 2005: a hobbyist system that has full motion and vision functionality and a commercial version that allows the 9-series to guard RFID-tagged objects and swarm on intruders. We re waiting, as always, for the buzzsaw attachment.
