You probably have never heard about it, but there’s a competitor to Wi-Fi for wireless networking. Or at least there was until a few days ago. The HomeRF Working Group, which promoted a wireless networking standard based on the Shared Wireless Access Protocol, formally disbanded a few days ago due to lack of interest.
