In a story that I’m sure will appeal to almost every single Gizmodo reader, Wired Magazine challenges five design groups to come up with their visions of gadgetry a decade from now—all speculation, of course, but we’ll all have forgotten it in ten years, anyhow. I especially like the idea of a series of folding, thin OLED touchscreens that can be reconfigured, origami-like, depending on what function they will be performing (e.g. “phoning, gaming, or full-screen movie watching”).
The gadgets brainstorm is part of Wired’s NextFest, which pings experts in the fields of communication, entertainment, transportation, space exploration, and medicine to find out what sort of future we can expect to live in. I’m sure it will be exactly like what they predict, too, except for the parts that are totally different.
