JOEL JOHNSON — Although their website prompts almost as many questions as it answers, the Fishing Cam from this Korean company looks to be an in-development product that can be used to send a video signal from your bait to you. Attached to the sinker, it appears the Fishing Cam can work in both a wired and unwired mode, using a wireless transmitter inside a float to broadcast a 2.4Hz (not 2.4Ghz, the frequency of WiFi) to either a rod-mounted monitor, laptop, or even mobile phone. Mind you, they don’t say how it does all these things; I suspect the ‘Product Characteristics’ page is more of ‘Things We Could Do’ instead of a ‘Things We Have Done.’
As many weights and lures as I lose fishing, though, at the end of my line is the last place I’d want an expensive camera.
