Yamaha HDMI Projector

Yamaha announced its so-called mid-range home projector yesterday—only $4,200. But it’s got the goods: native 720p outfitted with the TI DarkChipII DLP tech. The 4,000:1 contrast ratio and up to 1000 ANSI lumens and a six-segment color wheel round out the display. HDMI connection, and a 26dB quiet operation. One day, one day…

And if you’ve got the $12,495 to spare, you might just as well upgrade to the DX-1300. It’s a DarkChip3 DLP with a 5:000-to-1 contrast ratio. It can also project 4:3 sources onto 16:9 screens and lots of other little features. But you better have some space in your living room, because this thing is a beast.
