You might have heard something about how the FCC has set a November 24th deadline for cellphone companies to make it possible for you to keep your number when you switch carriers. Well, the carriers, who know full well that this isn’t good for them, are mounting a last ditch effort to stop the FCC. The case goes to Federal court on Tuesday. One little-known part of the proposed rule: number portability applies to wireline numbers as well, so you’ll be able to ditch your landline and still keep your number.
