To help fight speeding in Britain, researchers there are testing a new “car management system” that uses GPS to automatically sense what the speed limit is of the road you’re driving on. British Telecom’s resident futurologist says that “If the trials are successful, we may see all new cars fitted with the system by 2010, making it impossible to speed.” This would never, ever go over in America.
