ZDnet on Microsoft’s New Wireless Base Station

ZDnet reviews the MN-500 wireless base station, Microsoft’s first foray into 802.11b hardware. Anyone who has used a Linksys wireless access point knows that there is a huge market opportunity for Microsoft to exploit here. Now that wireless home networking is pushing out into the mainstream, there are going to be lots of people who are just going to want something that just works when they turn it on, with a minimum of fuss. Microsoft is going to try and make wireless networking as foolproof and automatic as possible, something that will endlessly frustrate power users, but will almost certainly satisfy the great majority of home computer users.
