Apple sneaked through a firmware update on Tuesday for MacBook Pro notebooks, failing to mention that it was intended to fix overheating issues in the laptops. The firmware update dealt with the system management controller, the part of the MacBook Pro that controls power and thermal conditions. Users of Apple's support forums weren't happy with the lack of information provided with the update. Said one user:
"Thanks Apple, nothing says we love our customers like posting an update, AND NOT TELLING US A SINGLE FREAKING clue what it fixes. Or would that just mean you'd have to admit some of the issues we've been having?"
