    well, it took 7 years, but Bush finally did one thing right. Unfortunately, that one thing doesn't have to do with, oh i dunno, not invading countries under false pretenses / the killing of people, but "yay" anyways.

  • At least he's done one good thing in the past seven years that he's been in office :P

  • Wow, I clicked to comment and for some reason I was signed out, so it took me a minute or 2 to remember my login name. By the time I did, 2 people already said what I was going to say....Bush did something right??

  • wait what? where am I? this can't be right, something he has done can actually bring me ... joy and peace?

  • Interesting, the guy who wants to read my emails doesn't want people to call me.

  • Too little, too late is what I say. Also, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

  • I had to check the title of my browser, I thought I got stuck in some liberal media center. You continue to beat a dead horse, and apparently none have made a difference, congrats.

    How about instead of whining about the injustice you write a concise, educated comment about the subject? Flame on.

  • WAAAAAAAAITTT a minute! Why is Bush just NOW starting to do good things for us?? His whole admin has been defined by doing things that were in the best interest for big businesses and putting us into debt.

  • WAIT lets give credit where credit is due. CONGRESS wrote and passed the law. The president just sits there eating cheese enchiladas and can either veto, sign it into law, or do nothing and 10 days later it automatically becomes law... Thank your congress[wo]man.

  • @Chuck Pearce: How about your stop acting your age.

    I think Bush is looking to build himself a positive a legacy for history. This is SOMETHING in the plus column anyway, keeping us safe from call centers in strange foreign lands. I feel safer already.

  • @swansong: Exactly.

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 02:32 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @hagrun:
    he's unaware that he can't be president again - preparing to run against Obama, i guess.

  • Yeah, what the hell do laws have to do with the President? I didn't know Presidents could write bills, or pass them. Oh, they can veto them, but that's about it unless I'm mistaken.

  • @Curves: See, now that was a good comment. More of those and this would be an interesting read.

  • Whoo!

  • @Chuck Pearce: If you're going to resort a tired metaphor you better give it some context. I know its hard but try smilies, they're easier. Also accusing others of not writing concise, educated comments while simultaneously writing an incomprehensible, seemingly uneducated comment doesn't go far to legitimize your thoughts... but you didn't present any... except tacitly implying that liberals are homosexual.

  • When was the last time that a president ... Didn't invade or send our troups to another country to kill people. It's been a while... like ah.. when?

    Still this is a great bill. It's been almost 8 years since I had a land line (i'm a pure cellphone user)... so, this bill is useless to me..

  • Sadly, the law still doesn't apply to the political "vote-for-this-guy-please" calls that I get bombarded with.

  • @nutbastard: So Nutbastard... are you saying that we should've minded our own business and allowed Hussein to continue to kill his own people? I pitty your so called humanitarian beliefs!

  • Only we something could be done about junk mail now!

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:01 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @swansong:
    "flame on" != "implying liberals are homosexual"

    that said...

    @Chuck Pearce:

    dude, im seriously. bad bushie, i said thats a baaaad bushie!

  • Drat! Now I cannot use the name-one-thing-that-that-chimp-has-done-for-this-country speech anymore. Finally, Bush did something for the American people, and it only took 7 years. He probably had time for us because President's day is a corporate holi-- no that's not it. Hmmm....

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:04 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @dirk1965:
    That, sir, is exactly what I'm saying.

    Tell me - how is it better that WE now kill Saddams people, instead of him?

    As a Constitutional Libertarian, I have to point you to that one little bit about avoiding foreign entanglements.

    Furthermore, if my position is so terrible, why aren't you mad at Canada, France, Russia etc. for not taking him out?

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:11 PM on 02/20/08 *

    funny how so many that support the iraq war won't join up, and how so many troops are against the war...

  • Image of ANoel ANoel at 03:12 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @Chuck Pearce:
    "write a concise, educated comment about the subject"

    How about...

    Up.Chuck. Shut. Fuck. The.

    /I'll try harder next time.

  • Image of tamoko tamoko at 03:13 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @dirk1965: Yup, we should of done just that, and pounded the hell out SouthEastern Afghanistan and the Pakistani tribal regions instead of invading Iraq.

  • Image of ANoel ANoel at 03:15 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @nutbastard:
    Glad you're feeling better!

  • Image of tamoko tamoko at 03:15 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @nutbastard: Go NutBastard, go!!

    @ANoel: I second that.

  • @nutbastard:

    Took the words right outta my mouth...

  • @dirk1965: Of course, the war against Saddam Hussein went so well for those poor people in Iraq. They're all safe now! I'm all for stopping violent people in powerful positions, but doing so through violence seems counterintuitive, no?

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:20 PM on 02/20/08 *

    Furthermore, we PUT Saddam there (he was a CIA asset, as was Osama Bin Laden) Just like they took out the Shah of Iran and put the Mullahs in place...

  • Can we get a Do Not Call List for politicians? I'm tired of Hilary calling to tell me to come to Texas to rally against Obama. Sheesh. Is she that scared? Obama already got my vote in California, but whatever. I'm tired of politicians and propositions.

    But the permanent list will do for now

  • Ugh Bush haters up in her', I dislike Bush because he was inches away from granting immunity to illegals and has pushed for "green" crap which I haven't believed in since the 7th grade.

  • This sounds good at first glance but how do we know that Captain Cuckoo Bananas did not issue a signing statement that says that if you sign up for the Do Not Call List you inherently give the government permission to listen to all of your phone calls without a warrant. You know, to make sure noone violates the list.

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:25 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @ANoel:
    not really, just the fucking dayquil kicked in a bit...

  • Image of ANoel ANoel at 03:26 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @tamoko:
    America cannot WIN in Iraq (nor in Afghanistan).
    They can only fuck with the Shiite Arabs, the Sunni Arabs, the Kurds, and other smaller groups, in the process killing hundreds of thousands of them and many thousands of Americans. Oh, but they CAN grease the wheels and palms of the vast Military Industrial Complex.

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:27 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @PeteyNice:
    We can be sure because that would be redundant per the Patriot Act... ha ha, "permission", go make like a tree!

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:32 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @sisedi:
    really???? it was the illegals and the green stuff that tipped the scales? Thats like saying you dislike Charles Manson because he doesn't trim his fingernails very often.

  • Yo!

    How about doing the same for spam?
    No.. No the ham in a can...
    The $#@%(*^# viagra a male enlargement junk I get everyday!

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:40 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @aec007:
    the trick is to use a SPARE email address for signing up for pr0n sites... my main account is absolutely spam free, while my throwaways get probably 30 a day. and i only signed up for like, 3 porn sites.

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 03:43 PM on 02/20/08 *

    i mean, what are the odds of winning the UK National lottery twice in one week?!

    oddly enough, even though i sent em all my banking details, i haven't heard from them since... I wonder if i can get my old job back, after showing up drunk at 8am and yelling "ha! fuck you fucking assholes, i just won the fucking UK national lottery - TWICE! Im rich, biatch!" and then i pissed on the carpet. Probably not...

  • Aren't we STILL in Bosnia? Why is that? Bush should get us out of there and clean up another one of Clintons screw-ups before the end of this year. Thank God he helping Africa when Clinton did NOTHING for Rowanda.

    Now... if business phone numbers are included on the do not call this time, I will be happy... are they?

  • bush signing a bill at last! and one that is beneficial!

    {sarcasm}4 more year! 4 more years!{/sarcasm}

  • @Chuck Pearce:

    flame off

  • @nutbastard: He did make a joke once about seizing power under a different title he planned on creating.

  • @dirk1965:

    Actually, history has shown us that unless we fight a war to win, we might as well not fight at all. See "Vietnam" where we spent years accomplishing nothing, at great cost. Using "the good of the people" in the country we support (read: invade) as an excuse to justify risking American lives (and killing non Americans in the process) is not the best policy.

  • "The constitution is just a goddamn piece of paper. I can run for president as many times as I want. Who says I can't?"

  • @swansong: Actually I think your reply went to the heart of what I was saying. The comments prior to mine were all the same "I hate Bush" in so many different ways. Not a single comment about the subject, only about Bush.

    Then you make a long winded bash against me for pointing out the obvious. Notably the "incomprehensible" comment, you obviously comprehended the comment if you chose to write a derogatory one in reply. Or perhaps you didn't because you believe I called liberals "homosexual". If you define homosexual as random bashing without any evidence, then that is your problem.

  • @PeteyNice: He doesn't need our permission, he's already doing it.

    On another note (and I think actually on topic, unlike the rest of you yokels): Huzzah! No more telemarketers or politicos calling me on my cell phone! Too bad this doesn't work for credit agencies...stupid pyramid schemes.

  • @dirk1965: ok, DUMBASS how about worrying about our own country...like PSYCHO COLLEGE KIDS, and maybe we have something going here...I want YOU to answer me...When has anybody won a flipping war EVER agaisnt a Middle Eastern country? huh!?!? NEVER, remember... the people voted his behind in there...
    AND ITS GOOD THAT HE PASSED THIS "LAW" i dont like telemarketers calling me

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 05:34 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @Chuck Pearce:
    I got one, ON TOPIC:

    This is completely unenforceable.

    "Hello?"

    "Hi, I'm calling from Noname Insurance with a special offer - "

    "HEY! I'm on the do not call list! Who is this, and what's your number???"

    *click*

    next day... same thing...

  • @sleepyyazo: Easy, killer. Don't wanna blow an o-ring there.

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 05:45 PM on 02/20/08 *

    best solution to telemarketers is to interrupt them, tell them you're VERY interested, and would like to hear all the details. then quietly set the phone down (dont hang up!) and walk away. let them speak to your table.

  • Watch your comments! Big brother is watching you...

    BUT YAY NO MORE TELEMARKETERS! I got a crapload of calls a day.

  • @nutbastard:
    The problem is not me or my e-mail account... It's other people's e-mails that I have to send e-mail to.
    So they have my e-mail in their address book...

    These are the same people that still believe Bill Gates will send them $ 1000 for forwarding their e-mail on an World wide MS Outlook-Express Test.
    I can't wait until the Windows Mail test start once people upgrade to Vista.
    Sheeeesh....

    Although in all honesty, Windows Mail does an excellent job cleaning spam.

  • The telemarketers don't bother me because if I see a number I don't recognize, I jus don't pick it up. If it's important, they'll leave me a voice mail.

    Sooo is there a DO NOT LISTEN act going to go up anytime soon?

  • Image of nutbastard nutbastard at 06:01 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @aec007:
    oooh. yeah i dont talk to morons like that. anyone sends me a FWD, bam, i just mark their email address as spam and they can just go fuck themselves.

  • @nutbastard: Absolutely thank god this crap is gone. Especially where everyone is going to cell phones. I don't want to pay for someone to tell me about a new long distance plan.

    The next thing they need to crack down on is using forged caller id. Most of those telemarketers don't even use a CID owned by their trunk. How are you suppose to report someone if you don't know how to track them down?

  • Image of johnnyabnormal johnnyabnormal at 06:44 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @nutbastard: That is until your mom forwards you a phishing scam.

  • Image of johnnyabnormal johnnyabnormal at 06:45 PM on 02/20/08 *

    @nutbastard: Bush will convert Iraqis to Democracy if he has to kill every last one of them. Viva la Chimp! Viva la internets!
