Someone called David Yoon has reconverted his Rock Band drum kit into what any student (former or not) will recognize as the One and Only True Form of Drumming: pencil drumming. He replaced "the smallish stock piezo transducers with bigger ones from Radio Shack" and reconverted the pedal with a foam and CD sandwich. This way, David says he can do the Ringo at 2am without waking up the neighbours. [Flickr]

Rock Band does feel kind of weird playing the virtual high-hat with the left hand and the snare with the right. I was actually thinking about building a new rack to elevate the yellow and drop the red -- but not to play it with pencils.
What does "reconverted" mean?
Finally, I was looking for an alternate use for a pencil. It was pissing me off that the only use for the thing was doing homework, now I have finally discovered that the otherwize worthless pencil can be recycled into a useful device.
