HEY, HULK HERE AGAIN! HULK DOESN'T LIKE
Comments
HD version on this page. [movies.yahoo.com]
Wall E, Funny Games, Indy 4, and Pineapple Express are the only movies (that I'm aware of) that I'm really looking forward to seeing. Ironman could be ok, we'll see how that turns out.
Christina Ricci, so hot.
Movie looks like it actually may be cool based on this trailer.
Nothing will stop me from seeing this movie.
Thank GOD the monkey finally showed up 39 seconds into the trailer. I was so worried they left it out.
Hey, @Kiamat: G-d called. He wants to talk to you.
It looks good, but the cars look like they are all hot wheels. They all look so static no? I mean they they don't look very realistic at all. I guess that is what they were going for, a comic version of it. The rest will help me feel like a kid again. I still have 2 of my original hot wheels Mach 5 cars still in good shape. Maybe I will bring my 2 little boys to the movies with them. Now I just have to get the damn things out of storage.
@jetexas: Hey, if you DON'T like Christina Ricci, at least be nice... OH, you meant the chimpanzee.... Sorry, my bad.
I'm gonna pass on this one. Maybe I'm missing some background on the franchise, but it just looks terrible.
Haha... nice choice selections.
I don't remember Speed Racer being anywhere near as bright and colorful in the cartoon as it was in that trailer. I can't wait for the impending seizure I'll be getting in theaters and it won't be from the speed.
Also, Speed Racer as a child and Susan Sarandon saying that he's always talking about racing reminds me of Will Ferrell's as Ricky Bobby being child and always wanting to go fast.
HULK SAYS WATCH MY MOVIE.
The tracks and spinning attack move remind me a lot of F Zero on the gamecube.
Let me preface my comment by saying I'm an adult and I can't wait for Wall-E.
I don't see anyone older than 12 being interested in this. But of course I could be wrong.
Let's see: fast cars, babes, large Afros, monkey, and NINJA's!
Well I think all the major eye candy groups are present for a well balanced visually feast.
Did Christina Ricci lose some "weight"? She seems smaller. ;)
i wasn't going to see this cause i was never a speed racer fan....but Christina Ricci....come on, i'll be there
Alright.... That trailer was makes the movie look a whole lot cooler that it has a right to be. What's the catch?
I'm sorry, but everytime I think about anything the Wachowski Brothers have written, produced, or directed, I remember I can no longer refer to them as the Wachowski brothers and instead the Wachowski siblings.
@Rayzincrisp:
The catch is that this is a just a trailer and the full length movie may suck. Some of those racing scenes looked like they filmed toy cars rolling around. Other scenes looked good, though. Tough call at this point.
On the other hand, the Iron Man trailer looked so good on many levels. And I don't even like IM that much.
finally, something a little more down to earth and plausible.
The Hulk obviously doesnt use sentences that complex. I think you meant:
"HULK HERE! HULK NO LIKE HULK MOVIE TRAILER! HULK LIKE SPEED RACER TRAILER! HULK WANT SEE NOW!"
@Geisrud:
I agree - i wasnt around for speed racer, so all i have to go on is this movie - i understand its suppose to be like comic book style. but it really looks like its gonna suck. however i maybe be wrong. i will watch it, when it gets on tv.
Wow, this could very possibly be the worst movie ever.
Gonna have to pass on this one.
@EBone: I too am an adult anxiously awaiting Wall-E.
I, Kaiser-Machead, refuse to pay to see this movie. If I wanted to see this, I could've just stuck an M-80 in my giant box of oil paints.
This poll sucks.
Wheres the "most will disappoint, a few will be must-see" ????
You know, I didn't enjoy the pod racing in TPM, and I probably won't enjoy this.
If you liked little kid Anakin and NASCAR, this movie is for you.
I'm with Kaiser-Machead, this looks like a steaming pile of crayola
Holy bad. Why couldn't they make it campy like Kill Bill? Instead its really SHINY and INTENSE.
Does Hulk not know where the caps lock key is?
I am not sure about this new Speed Racer movie. In the back of my mind, I keep asking myself if it will be "cheesy" or not.. but also... seeing all of those bright colors keeps reminding me of that Dick Tracy movie..
This confuses me. I want to like it, but somehow it looks even cornier than the cartoon and I am not sure if that will work for a live-motion feature.
OK, my forthcoming comic and cartoon movie interest is now thus (in alphabetical order):
* The Dark Knight: Looks Probably Good (not fresh, though)
* Hellboy II: The Golden Army: Looks Good
* The Incredible Hulk: Looks Stupid (good actors, but it just doesn't excite me)
* Iron Man: Looks Awesome
* Speed Racer: Looks Very Corny, But Possibly OK
Here is another way of looking at it, more clearly demonstrating my comic- and cartoon-derived movie-going priorities:
Iron Man > Hellboy: The Golden Army > The Dark Knight > Speed Racer > Hulk
That list grows even longer if you add Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and various other movies, so I might not make it to see Hulk or Speed Racer. I could go either way on The Dark Knight, but I will probably see it because the new version of the Joker looks interesting.
Those neon lit racing scenes remind me of that scene in that horrible Batman movie where Robin races a day-glo biker gang. I can't get over that, so I'm gonna have to pass.
And if you're going to turn a cartoon into a live action movie, then make it look like a live action movie (realistic.) You don't have to make it look like a cartoon. Does that ever work?
it takes balls to make a silent movie in 2008, which peaks my interest in Wall E. Last animated "kids" movie I saw was the one with chris rock and I think ben stiller, and it felt like it was almost over animated and I needed a healthy amount of ADHD to watch it (much like speed racer). Wall E seems like it'll be the opposite of that. Persipoles restored my faith in animated film and Pixar puts out solid movies. But I'm an Apple fanboy so my opinion is jaded.
shit forgot to add Dark Knight to my 08 must see list
I am such a dork that I go see every comic book oriented movie no matter what. Speed Racer is another story, though, because I grew up watching that show and I don't care if it's G rated or completely ridiculous I will go see that the day it comes out. Iron Man is probably the one I am still most excited about even more than Indy and Dark Knight (even though I love them both).
@thechansen: Wall-E isn't really a silent movie. The robots make rudimentary clicks and squeaks, but from the trailer there is at least one occasion where someone speaks.
As another Apple fan, I don't think that has much to do with these flicks. The sad truth is that a great deal of newer animated flicks are pure garbage. Open Season, Surf's Up, Robots, Happily n'ever After, Shrek the Third were all toilet floaters. Pixar is one of the only studios not making animal fodder.
I am so glad it they used the "chonk chonk chonk" sound the Mach five makes when it jumps and that they didn't try to make it realistic. It looks absoulutly trippy. Like a life size hot wheels track on acid!
This movie looks like utter bull crap. An F-Zero movie would be much better.
@Kaiser-Machead: well Jeff from Curb Your Enthusiasm and I think one other person both speak, but I meant silent in terms of audible English dialogue. Pixar seems to have the Golden Touch in terms of making CGI animated pictures. I miss hand drawn but at least with Pixar you are getting the same effort as the hand drawn classics.
This Speed Racer movie might as well be animated though. It has as much CGI as a Pixar movie.
There's no way a movie like could could be retarded enough to match how ridiculous the show was.
With grammar like that I should probably shut up.
Good god. This looks terrible.
That looks so cheesy.
Movies in order this summer:
1. The Dark Knight (by a multiple furlongs)
2. Iron Man (Just as good, but far less serious)
3. Hellboy 2: the Golden Army
3. Incredible Hulk
4. Speed Racer
Is his gear shift a Saitek flight controller throttle?
sucks ass :(
Looks like freaking Mario Kart the Movie.
~Y
Good lord....I feel as if though my eyes were just sexually assaulted by every color in the known spectrum. ;; Sounded interesting on paper....hurts my eyes when done.
Pass.
The colors man THE COLORS!!!!
@Anubis LG: well this movie is based of a cartoon. I rather see this scifi FX than a realistic borefest like the last batman. these type of movies are about make believe, not really need to be grounded on realism.
Cornily bad. thats about the size of it.
'nuff said.
Christrina Ricci.... mmm
I think all the people who say this looks cheesy, or corny, clearly do not remember the actual cartoon this is based on. I think the Wasksahlasbhas;a'skgj brothers really only had three options:
1. Make it cool, so only people who haven't seen speed racer like it.
2. Make it like the show, so speed racer fans like it (and possibly no one else).
3. Make it like the last Matrix.
(Possible 4. Don't make a Speed Racer Movie.)
I think they went with option two, and that really is their best option. I still think there will be better movies(The Dark Knight, Iron Man, WallE,...), but I will see this movie, and probably enjoy it.
movie trailer looks good...but then thats what trailers are for...they suck you into thinking the movie is going to rock...then you realize the trailer was better than the movie...
i think this movie is going to suck....but perhaps the special fx wont let it sink too deep.
