Mini ITX machines around the size of a Mac mini aren't rare. But machines like this with stereo speakers built in that look like little precise German lunchboxes of computing power, well, that's not something you find every day. Precise? Yes, take a look at the front mesh and side grills. The single fan design makes this little guy run at 24Db, and in its top config has a Intel 945GC+ICH7 chipset, 160GB of HDD, Wi-Fi b/g, Gigabit ethernet, 4 USB 2.0 ports, DVD multidrive, DVI and HDMI(!). For scale, the Nova Lite is about 9 inches across.

Lately I've taken to running a secondary PC I call a "toaster" to offload some tasks from my aging main PC.
It acts as a Skype box when I'm gaming on the main machine, a print server on my network, an internet radio and a surfing box to use if my wife and I want to surf together simultaneously.
Little systems like this seem PERFECT for such tasks.
This is going to make the BEST HACKINTOSH !!! It has the correct specs! WEEEEEEEEE
Uh yeah, I want one.
HDMI out, audio 5.1 out, gigabit ethernet - I have finally found my HTPC!!!!!!!!!!
Now - what's price?
The question is, how much does it cost?
At around half the price of a Mac Mini, I'd be interested. Particularly because Lester56 is correct, this may indeed make a nice Hackintosh.
Also, the sign for decibel is dB, not Db.
Ya. Of COURSE they come out with this after I spent a chunk of change on a dedicated media PC. Hey future! Here's what I think of you! THPTPTPTPTPTPTPTPTPTT :P
Very nice design! My only concern would be cooling. It seems so perfect for stowing in a cabinet and using as a Media Center and, well, with a single fan it would be too easy to stack something on top of the vent.
Asus does not have the best track record for support when it comes to their "all-in-one" boxes! Look back at the "S-presso".

please be 300-350 dollars, for the love of god.
Seriously, I'm in the market for an HTPC. If this comes at a decent price point I'm all in.
why does it need speakers? It will not be cheap enough to mount in the kitchen for streaming WFMU.
I'm tired of paying the electricity bill for a 500w power supply tower machine. These little ones may pay for themselves in energy savings.
holy fucking shit!
it's like an EEE desktop...on crack, meth and speed all at once. and for any price under $400, i'll take two...one because my desktop is a bitch and i need something quieter and more stable, and one for a carputer.
yeah, if this comes out in the $400 range i'm picking one up to go on the hdtv. i'm still loving my eee pc.
Asus is going to eat the mid to lower market for breakfast, again.
If this came out for the right price, it would be an instant must-have for me.
I wanted it like, now.
The North American Asus website doesn't list the Nova Lite, but has a Nova P22 that looks very similar with a bit of added color and looks to be in the $900 range. Might that be the NA version of the Nova Lite?

Does this kinda look like a PS3 to anyone else?
@Aceoage: Nope!
I've been holding out for the next mac mini update, but this thing has me drooling a little. As long as it can handle WoW, I'm game!
@Limekiller: I don't see anything about HDMI on the P20 or P22, but I love the color of the P22. How good would that look next to a Wii? Still drooling..
Gizmodo covered the P20 and P22 a while back. Their problem being, you can build comparable machines (power and form factor) for a third of the price yourself, as lifehacker promptly demonstrated.
@Hvedhrungr:
Link please.
I've been think about building me own from scratch and I can't find the post you were talking about for the life of me.
