In the words of the Conchords, a team of Canadian students just wanted to do something special for the lay-deez of the world. And so they came up with the Ladybag concept. It's a smart bag that uses RFID technology to ensure that you leave the house with those three staples you need in the modern world: mobile; keys; and wallet.
Developed by a team at Canada's Simon Fraser University, the bag, which uses RFID technology, also has LED icons on the side, which illuminate when the bag is missing an object, while a smiley emoticon lights up when you're ready to go. I think they left off the lipstick icon, though. [Ladybag via Talk2MyShirt]

If you could program this to add your own "necessities" and left the silly LED face off for something like a simple indicator light then I would buy this for my wife tomorrow.
It would also be a perfect thing for a diaper bag. Of course where are you going to get RFID tagged diapers?
If it won't display a gun, it's useless.
I was afraid of this article, at first. "Ladybag" sounded like a PC was of saying "douche." Or is it "dooshe," on Gizmodo? I can never remember.
I want an RFID house. I want to tag my loseable items and find them using my computer.
I have a feeling this will be self defeating though as I will find new ways to lose my keys and wallet.
Hi - I am carrying my car keys and my wallet - mug me!
@flyboy: If it's flashing symbols for those objects, then you're missing them, not possessing them. :P
How about something that says "Hi, I'm suffering from the ravages of PMS. Stay away or lose your face"?
Agree with nailscars on programming the items i want.
The smiley is cool ..
Will pay 3-5 buck for it ..

I came up with the same idea, but instead using your entry doorways to your house connected wirelessly to a home PC which you can then configure per person and what items they bring with them. IE: set a profile for myself - when I walk through garage door verify that I have keys, wallet, cellphone, n800, work badge. If I'm short an item, sound a beep.
Too bad no woman went into the aesthetic design of the bag...it's hideous.
How bloody retarded do you have to be to have to have an array of LEDs displaying friendly graphics to let you know you've put your keys in your bag? The movie Idiocracy takes one step closer to becoming a reality...
I would buy this, but not in an RFID context. I would just want to show faces.
What if i spill my drink on it...will it still work or is it stain resisent...
