There's no question that we're big fans of Rock Band here, which is why we'd totally get in on this $147.99 deal if we already didn't all own a copy. That's a good $22 off the normal price, which means you're getting $22 worth of extra enjoyment out of it. Do it! Do it now! [Amazon]

My friend would love to hear this.
Or, even better, go make friends and actually create a real band.
@Monty: id rather people that cant play music stick to their videogames.
@Monty:
Or better, stay out of comments when you have nothing constructive to add...
I wouldn't worry about Monty posting here any more, since following his logic, he's going to be very busy. After all, he's got to join the army now instead of playing MOH. He's also got to go out and start practicing running routes since he's giving up Madden for real NFL football.
Forgive the ignorance that coats this question, but it rock bad just a bunch of easier-to-play fake instruments that hook into your console, or is it more of a game like guitar hero?
I wouldn't worry about Monty posting here any more, since following his logic he'll be too busy doing the following:
Instead of playing Madden, he's going to be running routes in the back yard so that he'll be ready for the NFL draft.
Instead of playing Army of Two, he'll be joining the real army.
Instead of playing Tiger Woods Golf, he'll be out on the links, working on his short game.
@ninjagin: It's almost exactly the same as guitar hero except there's drums and a mic along with the guitar(s).
@Monty: My band and I get together and play rock band when we aren't practicing. Take that!
@ninjagin: Rock band expands the GH gameplay (of guitar and bass, or guitar and rhythm guitar), by adding a drum kit and a microphone for singing.
Singing is obviously singing, but the gameplay is the same as karaoke revolution, if you've ever played that.
Drumming is basically a drum pad setup with 4 drum pads and a bass pedal. It could be considered easier-to-play in that you have less drums than a full trap set, but mechanically, its pretty much playing drums with pads.
Then you have 2 guitar parts. It is by the creators of Guitar Hero, so obviously there are massive similarities. The biggest difference is that you can gain star power and hit star power sequences while star power is already active, allowing you to chain them for longer score bonus.
@Monty: Oh Monty, I expect so much more from you. I forgive you this time for going after the easy, cheap shot, but let's not make this a habit. Okay?
And in response... Maintaining friendships and buying instruments costs a lot more than $150.
@Monty: Geez Monty, I expected better from you.
Looks like a good deal to me, may have to blow a bunch of gift certificates on this one and have some friends over :)
John Bonham here.
This offer was so great, I had to return from the grave to take advantage of it!
BUY IT!!! I got it from Fry's at the same price a few weeks ago, best $150 I've spent in a while.
Waiting for Springsteen...
@Monty: Or better yet...get some real friends and dont post on forums pretending they're your friends.. Given that any thought there?
Some uhh real friends?
No just uhhh...some forum friend you have online. Imaginary friends you have with you in your mind.
Maybe go outside for a change?
You know..rekindle that memory of what grass smelled like.
How there are other human beings in the world.
work on a novel.
construct a 3 act structure......
have an antihero perhaps??
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh you'll be fine.
Bought.
@ideaman2020: I thought your John Myer?
*youre
Oh, AWESOME. I bought Rock Band exactly 30 days ago, kicking myself for missing the $150 sale the prior week. Just called Amazon to get my price guarantee refund. Hooray!
This is awesome.
I wanted Gizmodo to make a dealzmodo the other day when the 16 GB iPod Touch was $336.30 on amazon.com, but they didn't!
I love Amazon :)
I should note that it was that price for the touch WITHOUT the current upgrade. Also, they now changed it to $349...oh well
John Entwistle here.
@Amiash: You're absolutely right. My mistake.
