There is something about aquariums that is just plain cool—and the Moody Acquario is definitely a cool bathtub. While I can see where the designers got the idea, the logic behind the $14,500 price tag is a little harder to fathom. I mean, the design itself is pretty basic and it doesn't look all that comfortable to sit in. Plus, you have all of those fish quietly laughing at your whale-like physique or less-than-impressive manhood. [Giant.co.uk via Apartment Therapy via Born Rich]

You could really screw with some fish in this thing. Keep all the nice happy little goldfish in the small tank and then make the main tub salt water and raise a nice young baracuda. Or like put a lid on the tub with a bunch of kittens inside!
It all sounds great until the first scalding bath results in a massive fish die off. Brilliant.
Im gonna totally get one of these for my trailer.
You can make a better one custom made with a carpenter or something like that, it just does not look like a $14K bathtub. I mean, where are you going to put the girl? Unless you like being intimate with fish, this is not a good thing to have.
@paulnptld: My first thought too...
Neat way to combat that would be two sheets of plexiglass/glass between you and the fishies, with .25" gap between them, and a cool water circulation system to run water through the gap.
Actually...looking at the pictures closer...it appears they have an air gap between the two tanks. Nevermind.
@Derick:
"where are you going to put the girl?"
On the bottom of course - that way it'll be much more comfortable to sit in...
Based on the comfort design, I have to assume that this is not for someone to take a bath but to toss someone in who needs to sleep with the fishes.
@Monty: Zing!
Looks like a b*tch to clean.
@Curves: Both the tanks and the tub. How gross would it be to bathe in the tub if the tanks had algae growing in them. Or how gross would it be to see the ring around the tub through the tanks.
FAIL
one fish two fish red fish *expensive* fish
uh. fish are very temperamental to temperature changes. if you take a nice long hot bath, since the tub and fish tank are right by each other, won't the temperature change kill the fish? that might kill the warm fuzzy feeling one gets from a nice bath.
.............
seriously?
what does this gizmodo staff do during a normal workday? play video games with the Kotaku team?
at least take a look at the other gizmodo sites - the germany gizmodo blog had this a week or two ago - [www.gizmodo.de]
wow. the drastic temp changes would in no way be good for the fish! this is a horrible idea!
I wonder if in the land of fishes, they construct great big tanks of swimming humans, with small little antechambers for the fish to take their baths next to their human pets.
@taciturnforsale: Reeeeaaaaaaddddd earlier comments before posting.
Tony Soprano said he doesn't like this. TOo confusing.
I thought the idea of taking a bath was to get rid of that fishy smell!
