This monocycle from rich man's playground catalogue Hammacher Schlemmer is a few phalluses short of a South Park episode, but I think even Mrs. Garrison would appreciate the fact that this 1869 throwback is now available at retail for a modest $12,999.95. And the best part? The wealthy sops whipping around the Hamptons on this thing won't even have to pedal, as this monocycle boasts a 31cc 1 1/2 horsepower engine. The lawnmower-esque four-stroke maxes out at modest 25 MPH but Hammacher promises its monocycle can still comfortably navigate on anything from pavement to grass to the backs of the common man. Is it just me or does this not remind you of the same "special" motorcycle that Mr./Mrs. Garrison made on South Park? You be the judge.

this is truly an absurd device. i personally would feel like such a tool if were caught riding around in one of these...
eliminates need for humility?, ask this guy:
@rg4vr: I was thinking the same thing.
Throw some D's on that shit and you can roll around like fuckin' General Grievous.
And by D's I mean photon lasers and Proton missiles.
Umm, how do you turn?
Hehe, we're getting closer to Darth Maul's Bike design, now.
I lost interest as soon as I read "Fuel Tank"
@capitalass: Leaning. It is a lot like a skateboard or a bike in that respect. Although a bike has handlebars, you still need to lean into the turn.
@rg4vr: Read the article. It was already mentioned.
It would be cool if they made an amphibious one. The outer wheel part would be for land, and the inner "body" part could be for water. If someone steals that idea just send me a free one and I'll be happy. hehehe.
yeah...definitely looks like the "it"
but doesnt it also kinda resemble the mozilla firefox logo?
or is that just me
@rg4vr: He kind of did refer to it at the beginning of the thread if you read the tread that is.
It looks a lot like it except for the two..........Structures i guess that you need to do something to to make it work.
A great alternative to that machine.
For $13grand im sure someone is going to mod it to make it look like the one from southpark and keep it as a lifesize replica.
I've actually seen a big one, with a V-Twin motor, at the Rat's Hole bike show in Daytona last year. Belive me, if I saw that coming down the street sounding like a Harley, I'd be scared, not laughing.
Can't really turn corners though
I didn't realize there is a market for:
A) $13000 Scooters aka scoots that cost more than a motorcycle
B) People who hate standard scooter/motorcycle controls
C) looking like D-Bags
how the hell do you stop it?
@bramachari: by not not buying it. Get a used Honda Rebel or a Ninja 250. $2000 will get you a real motorcycle. Granted 250cc is kinda gurlyman but the Ninja 250 is a fun bike.
Looks like the Firefox browser icon.
25 MPH on that seems... troublesome.
Looks expensive
Kerry McLean is not impressed:
+ Watch video
@AJ_Syrinx: I thought the same thing.
@rg4vr:
It's still better than dealing with the airlines.
Is this the WheelSurf? A friend of mine works at the company that designed and makes this thing :)
And buying it directly at the manufacturer is actually a lot cheaper: [www.wheelsurf.nl]
How am I supposed to drive it without the attachments to stick in my mouth?
