Daaaamn. I take one of everything....
On a different note, i generally hate their stands, I think they look terrible and have no style.
Does anyone else think they're overpirced?
so should I get the high end 50" plasma or the top of the line 52" LCD? but really, are their plasma's that good compared to Pioneer's? I remember the Kuro being the "Top Gun"!
MSRP...expect street prices around 10-20% less...
what's 3D ready???
@Darrone: I agree, their stands suck. That's the first thing I do when I get a Sammy, rip the stand off and hang it.
i also wish they'd work to mute the shine on their bezel as well. It can be distracting.
Still, none of these replace the LED-backlit 81 series (rumors say june announcement?).
Glad my 4081 is still not obsolete.
I've become a big fan of sammy LCDs lately. But I must agree with Darrone, and bitfactory on the stands. BTW I've not wiped down the bezel in months because I actually prefer the smudges to the glare.
I pulled the trigger on the LN46A550P for $1499 on Amazon yesterday.
The 6 series of the same size (LN64A650P) was about 50% more money, for nothing special.
Seemed like an easy decision :>
@kahri: hhhmmm . . .smudges to glare, that's a new one to me.
@Darrone:
Then hang it off the wall.
Hmmph.
My local retailer had a price tag on a 60" LCD that said, "A taste of that sweet ass!"
@DustyButt: I must find this retailer.
Bah! Why did they leave the old numbering system. Now it's harder to compare between older Samsung TVs and the newer ones.
Where the hell are the LED sets? >:(
And I really hate the design trends in bezels these days. This glossy crap has got to go. Bring back the matte finishes! It's bad enough my only choice is black as it is.
In fact, the less bezel, the better.
@daftrok: What if i want to put it in a corner? I'm stuck with that ugly ass stand.
I have a 4671f and I like the look of that over these new designs. I like the strip of grey aluminum and glass at the edges of the (now old) 71f series, looks more classy. Also the 750 series has a contrast ratio of 50k? Without LED backlights? WTF?
I'm happy with my 25k contrast
I think LED sets will be marginalized for OLED sets... I read somewhere that LED sets consume more energy than CCFL for backlighting, so although they produce better blacks, most folks are happy with LCD-CCFL vs. Plasma for that battle already, and R&D is shifting into OLED because it should knock both mingas with one connie, innit?
@Darrone: You could get one of them swivel-y arm guys... like this:

But, you know, for a wall not a desk.
Update: better link for various monitor-arms

Okay that update link actually sucked it's all for little guys, here's some big'uns

I can't edit posts, but I try not to leave bunk info ;)
@riqgeez: Good luck finding a Kuro. THe cheaper 42 inch Kuro's are 720 and more expensive than my 46 1080. (If you care about 720/1080 difference/lackthereof)
I bought the 46inch Sammy a couple weeks ago from crutchfield and got the automated wall mount for free (it telescopes and such via the tv remote) for $1800. It's a sweet tele and setup I must say. Installing a bracket without the cords showing however is quite the heroic feat I'm learning.
Just for an idea of actual prices, the 6 series on Amazon is going for $2000 through a third party vendor for the 46" and $2,500 for the 52". The prices directly from Amazon are about $100 or $200 more.
@Darrone: "What if i want to put it in a corner?"
Nobody puts Samsung in a corner.
Uhh...I bought a 6 series LCD just the other day. They've been available for about a month. In fact, their price is now down to $2144 on amazon for the 46".
