Watch Full Episodes of Friends, Scooby Doo and The Batman Online for Free

wbonline.jpgWarner Bros. is jumping into the online video arena next month with a pair of sites, thewb.com and kidswb.com, which will show full episodes of its biggest series, like Friends and Smallville on the former, and stuff like Bugs Bunny, Scooby Doo and Batman (hopefully Paul Dini's brilliant and amazing original animated series, not The Mediocre Batman) on the latter. It'd probably have made more sense for them to join Hulu, but Warner's probably not keen on splitting the ad dollars. If there's enough content, it could become a real destination, but we're guessing you'll still have to go to YouTube for "Coal Black and de Sebben Dwarves." [Yahoo]

  • Is Matt B a pest?
    Frrrrrrunkis!

  • Yeah, The Batman is not so good. The new Spidey adventures on Saturday morning (only seen two) were not too bad. Harkened back, a bit, to Paul Dini's Batman:TAS. Not that good, but certainly better than The Batman.

    no seinfeld = no looky.

    friends is just too campy to waste bandwidth on.

    and plus, being the lame ass dork i am, i think ive seen em all, and they dont retain replay value like the 'feld does.

    Don't these companies get it? The networks are dead! People don't want to surf around to a dozen different sites, download a dozen different players, or deal with a dozen different interfaces. They want one place to go to watch everything.

  • @nutbastard: If they have the friends episode where the guys junk is hanging out, I might watch. Not sure if this would apply to you though.

    @nutbastard: Seinfeld was ruined for me when Curb your Enthusiasm came out and I realized that George Costanza was just Larry David in real life. Very sad. Ruined george for me, who was a truly original character.

    Don't these companies get it? Friends, Smallville, and Scooby-Doo are dead! People don't want to surf around to a dozen different sites, download a dozen different players, or deal with a dozen different interfaces to watch crap. In fact, they're pretty tired of watching crap altogether.

  • The original Batman animated series was glory. Here's hoping. I think it'll be the suckier later ones. =Z

    @Darrone:

    i knew that part of the charactarization for years - it never bothered me, and when curb came out, i thought, awesome, "the george costanza show"!

  • someone should really make a website that is essentially a portal to all of these places, because with each network having their own video site, it is going to hard to keep track of this stuff.

  • You KNOW it'll be the current The Batman. While the show didn't completely suck, the moment it jumped the shark for me was second season when they changed the theme song. First season theme song was dark and haunting and almost made the show feel like it had some respect for proper Batman. Second season they went to a theme song that sounded like they were trying to relive the campiness of the old live-action crap. That was when I stopped even trying to watch it.

    Nothing will touch the Fox-to-WB Batman series and its continuations, not to mention Batman Beyond, which was drastically better than anyone could expect (which explains why they bothered to make so few seasons of it, because good can never stay on the air).

  • Is this some US only thing again?

    Quit tempting the rest of the world with your legal video options while we have ot use BitTorrent to grab our shows!
