Not everything was about the stunning A-10 Warthog at last week's Top Gun 2008 competition, the largest R/C event in the world. 10,000 people watched the 120 invitation-only R/C airplanes competition—which included everything from from World War I Fokker fighters to WW2's Mustangs and Lightnings to Vietnam War's Phantoms, and plenty of civil aviation models. Gigantic gallery of this year's edition after the jump.

Buddha, Jesus, Allah, Zeus and Vishnu. I command thee hokey idols to get off your goddamn clouds and lotus blossoms and get me these. PRONTO!
My favorite plane of the show, I won't say... It's not really a show it's a competition
Dude, if it's a competition with $20,000 in price money - and not a show - is anyone really going to be offended if you pick a favorite? That being said, those are some way cool RC planes
How cool! Very expensive hobby though, I like food better :-)
Great stuff. So, who's making the Harrier? Or even better, an F-35!
So, do they shoot each other? Cause when I was growing up I always envisioned having BB guns on a RC airplane that would shoot down the other RC planes.
Actually, as an adult I still envision doing that.
@Munch: that's probably because there's a jury and the interview was before the end of the competition.
@LoganSix: There's always the possibility that one of them has a camera built into the nose, and decides to do a little sweep mining in the crowd.
"Well the remote pilot seems to be laughing maniacally with his big goggles and...oh God, the crowd's dropping like flies OH sweet Jesus they took out the boy scouts group! Oh mother of Christ the humanity! THE HUMANITY!"
Too... Much... Awesome... The P-38. My God the P-38.
@workingonyourinvoice: I see my love for the twin-tailed demon has company.
@Jesus Diaz: Yeah, I figured that he was just being diplomatic. I just wanted to hear him say "I almost shit myself when I saw that A-10 Warthog! That thing's tits on Ritz crackers!!" I'm a big fan of A-10's myself
Simply awesome...
I'm glad the video seemed just as focused on that P-38 as I was! I love the way those planes were designed.
