Fact, maybe: Human beauty has nothing to do with subjective judgment, and everything to do with some obscure mathematical equation. Fact, definitely: There is an iPhone app based on this theory.

Designed by giant human baby Ed Nash, above, Fit or Fugly (Fit: Brit., informal: SEXXXY) judges your attractiveness based on the proportions of your face, processed from a photo and a little user input—to peg exactly where your nose, ears, eyes and mouth are. Does it work? As a tool for determining objective beauty, possibly. As a tool for planting tiny, fertile seeds of doubt about your attractiveness in your subconscious (and others’!), yeah, sure. A dollar, and you look beautiful today. [iTunes via Cult of Mac]
