Good news for drunk dialers: the next time you drop your phone in the toilet, it might be able to survive the plunge—in Japan, at least. New “dryer boxes” in Tokyo camera shops could save your wet device.
The service is 1000 yen a pop—around $12—and will only cost you if the box successfully revives your phone. JMC Risk Solutions, the machine’s manufacturer, doesn’t reveal the technique behind the drying, only that it takes 30 minutes to complete.
