TomTom's GO 2405 and 2505 Satnavs Have New a UI For Less Touching

An improved user interface for the GO 2405 and 2505 means drivers will spend less time pressing the screen, and more time with their hands on the driving wheel. Saying that, however, it now supports the familiar pinch-to-zoom interaction.

Voice recognition can still be used, of course, but not everyone is au fait with that. As well as improving the UI, TomTom has also increased the brightness of the screen, added Bluetooth for hands-free calling, and made sure the satnav can't possibly topple out and hit you on the head by changing the click and lock mechanism when docked.

On sale soon at Amazon, BestBuy and TomTom's website (and then other storesin about eight months' time), the 4.3-inch 2405 will cost $300, and the 5-inch 2505 will cost $319. [TomTom]
