Wanted by police in upstate New York, Victor Burgos was hiding out in Brooklyn. Starting to feel untouchable, he taunted the police with a Facebook message: ‘Catch me if you can. I’m in Brooklyn’. Well, they caught him.

Burgos, a 29-year-old rap music promoter, had floating arrest warrants in Utica, New York dealing with domestic violence and harassment which made him one of Utica’s 10 most wanted criminals last month. When Burgos saw that dishonorable list, he foolishly issued out the challenge to police. Utica police Sgt. Steve Hauck said:

“He told us via Facebook to come and get him and we did,”

Sometimes—and especially if you’re on the run and don’t want to be found—you just have to be comfortable with anonymity and keep your trap shut. Funnily enough, when he was apprehended by US Marshals, Burgos was sitting in front of his computer with his Facebook page open. [NY Daily News]
