The World Trade Center Was a Hollywood Star

Before their destruction, the two towers of the World Trade Center were immortalized in film. They were iconic as sets, backdrops, or giant ape toys—massive creations synonymous with the concrete below. Dan Meth’s montage is a wonderful tribute.

The video takes slices of the film’s appearances in films between 1969 and 2001—often just appearing ever so slightly in the background. That monoliths as beloved and emotionally wrenching as the towers were often just the slightest blip in a scene seems impossible. [Dan Meth via Laughing Squid]
