Amazon Adds Streaming PBS Shows Aplenty

Perhaps to counter the recent addition of 24 and Ally McBeal, Amazon’s Prime Instant Video just snatched up a ton of smarty pants video from PBS. The terrific news series Frontline, classic Kens Burns docs, NOVA, and more.

Amazon’s touting over 1,000 episodes of new PBS stuff ready to stream, which is great news—both Prime and Netflix needed a highbrow injection, and providing topnotch stuff like this will go a long way to balance out the catalog. Now pardon me while I binge on Jane Austen TV adaptations. [Amazon Prime Instant Video]
