Panasonic's Rugged Toughpad A1 Is Not only Solid as a Rock, but Heavy as One Too

Would you lug around a tablet nearly twice as heavy as the competition if it meant the thing was virtually indestructable? If you're prone to gadget disasters, then you just might like the Android-powered Panasonic Toughpad A1.

Slashgear says the Honeycomb tablet is powered by a dual-core Marvell process running at 1.2 GHz, 1 gigabyte of RAM, 4G data and a 10.1-inch screen, the IP65/MIL-STD-810-rated Toughpad A1 can withstand water, dust, four-foot drops and freezing temperatures. But it also weighs 2.13 pounds which makes this thing a certifiable tank of a tablet. Add it's considerable ugly factor, and you'd have to have a serious need for one of these things.

Pricing and release date are still unknown, but along with the A1, Panasonic also plans to release a 7-inch version dubbed the B1. [Panasonic via SlashGear]
