The first time I saw a JVC Videosphere with my own eyes was at a flea market a couple of years ago. I nearly lost my shit at its retro-future goodness and was hellbent on bringing it home with me. Unfortunately, my wallet didn't agree.
But look at this thing. It looks like Neil Armstrong's helmet mated with with a TV. It stands out, but it's still sleek. It looks like very few things which came before it. It was inspired by 2001: A Space Odyssey. In short, it's wonderful. But you know, we kind of one-upped our own vision of the future.
First introduced in the early 1970s, the Videosphere was sold up through the early '80s. There was even a model with an Design aside, I have no idea what purpose a Videosphere would serve in a household today, but if you really want one of your own, start here. There are certainly worse ways to spend $265. [Etsy]
