Woohoo! So far this week I've been shot in the face with Nerf guns, blown away by a massive home theater, and tickled to tears of joy by the Santa Claw. Today at Gizmodo Gallery, you get a dose of geeky arts and crafts stimulation.
Short of small particle physics, MakerBot Industries' Thing-O-Matic is capable of printing almost anything. Staff from MakerBot have been on hand all week creating fun examples, and today is your last chance to take home a MakerBot creation from the gallery.
Beyond little crocodile minatures, the Thing-O-Matic is useful for much larger and ambitious projects. It can be used to prototype large scale manufacturing, or as we'll learn tonight, for ambitious, high-falutin' art. At 6pm, we're hosting artist-maker Micah Ganske who will speak about his experience using the MakerBot to produce mini masterpieces.
