Bang & Olufsen is known for two things: high quality sound and high quantity price tags. The AirPlay savvy BeoLit 12 Wireless Speaker don’t disappoint in either regard. Oh, and it looks like a pic-a-nic basket!

Bang & Olufsen based the speaker on its old transistor radio designs. It’s portable, it plays nice with AirPlay, and its wowza form factor hides a 120 watt amp, two 2-inch tweeters, and a 4-inch woofer. The battery life is strong: eight hours when it’s connected directly to an audio device, half of of which you lose when you switch to AirPlay.
The only hiccup might be the price; the BeoLit 12 starts at $800, available this spring. Ouch! Well, sort off; compared to the rest of B&O’s stuff that’s actually kind of a deal. [Bang & Olufsen]
