Here is another sign of the arrival of Retina(ish) displays to the next-generation MacBook Pros: in addition to new high definition cursors in the previous version, the latest Lion update has new ultra-high resolution app icons.

The new icons have appeared in 10.7.4. Previously, the top resolution for app icons was 512 x 512. Now, applications like TextEdit or Automator have icons that go up to 1024 x 1024. [Apple Insider via MacRumors]
