From a distance, this desk look beautifully organic: an undulating and natural surface, rich with character. Get up close, though, and you’ll realize that there are, in fact, cracks, crevices and electronics lurking within it designed especially for your tech.

Called Blidu, this desk is the work of German designer Tom Schuster. The beautiful slab of cherrywood includes carved slots designed to dock a tablet and smartphone, four USB hubs, holes for cables and a drawer to stash your laptop away.

The nice thing, though, is that at a glimpse you can barely tell. That’s because the surface was developed using 3D software to look like a digitized version of some organic, wavy structure. The end product is a beautiful combination of form and function—though sadly it’s currently still a concept. [Tom Schuster via Design Boom]
