Twitter says it has suspended 235,000 accounts for promoting terrorism since February. That brings the total accounts suspended since June 2015 to 360,000.

“Our response time for suspending reported accounts, the amount of time these accounts are on Twitter, and the number of followers they accumulate have all decreased dramatically,” Twitter said in a blog post. “We have also made progress in disrupting the ability of those suspended to immediately return to the platform.”

Twitter has long struggled with removing terrorist content on its platform, receiving criticism from US lawmakers and Twitter users.

According to The Washington Post, Twitter says it has beefed up its efforts to catch terrorist accounts. This includes increasing the teams that review reports, and adding new tools to detect accounts promoting terrorism. Twitter also says it is sharing information with other social media companies in order to identify terrorist content.
