Apparently Long Beach, California, is the world's second busiest port, with shipping containers a fairly normal view for residents. It therefore figures architecture firm APHIDoIDEA has proposed a building built using 65 recycled shipping containers.
The proposed building would be the Environmental Center of Regenerative Research & Education, and would have other eco-friendly elements in the build, including a vegetated roof with rainwater harvesting system and plants. There's something about the rolling design that reminds of Sydney's Opera House, but for the Long Beach residents, a building built from shipping containers might be a step too far.
