Cape Neddick’s Nubble Lighthouse in southeastern Maine is a famous American icon, and it’s easy to see why after taking a moment to soak in this brilliant shot by astrophotographer Adam Woodworth.

Woodworth used a blend of exposures to capture extra details in Nubble’s dazzling holiday light display: one at ISO 800 for 20 seconds, a second at ISO 400 for 60 seconds, and a third at ISO 400 for 10 seconds. He took the photo using a Nikon D810 camera outfitted with a Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 lens.

Here’s a different angle on the lighthouse hours later, illuminated by the early morning sun.

Wow, this picture must’ve been taken from someone’s back yard, because I’m fairly certain the public viewing area doesn’t extend this far towards town. Looks great though, I wish I had stopped by the other day after visiting family in OGT
