Inspired by the seemingly random clouds of data points recorded when a performer’s wearing a 3D motion capture suit, J.P.Meulendijks’ Mocap clock requires just the perfect angle to interpret the time.
That’s because the numbers around the clock’s face are actually made of small white dots mounted to black pins at varying heights. So when viewed head on, you can clearly distinguish every character. But as you move from side to side, you just end up seeing clusters of seemingly random white dots.
If you’re new to telling time on an analog clock it definitely has the potential to trip you up. But the rest of us can probably remember where the numbers one to twelve are usually placed, so it shouldn’t be too much trouble—unless spending $247 is your definition of troubling.
