Saturday morning io9 readers know that I love foisting some 1980s bleep-bloop music on you to kick off the weekend.

Today will be no different, as we will be listening to Claudio Mingardi’s 1984 single “Star,” a synthesizer-happy cover of the Thin White Duke’s ditty about friendly aliens who wish to fellate our brains or something.

As usual, the vocalist can only somewhat sing in English and — for that matter — sing whatsoever. If you’re hankering for further Bowiecentric oddities, here are the instrumental and an italoized cover of “Heroes” that will melt your reality into porridge.
