The song is described by Miranda as “a musical conversation between Auli’i’s Moana and [Catherine’s] Moana,” or as Johnson describes it, “it’s our OG Moana and your live-action Moana coming together, and then it’s your boy Maui coming in.”

Evil Dead Burn

In a new interview with SFX Magazine (via Games Radar), Sébastien Vaniček promised an unrated and “way more violent” director’s cut of Evil Dead Burn will release sometime after its theatrical release.

There is a scene that is not R-rated. It’s a really, really hard scene. And I have to cut it, unfortunately, so you just won’t experience it as brutally as it is right now because I need to have the R-rated movie. So we are trying to find a good balance.

The director’s cut will be way more violent than what we will have in the theater.

Supergirl

Appearing as a guest on the Raiders of the Lost Podcast (via Deadline), Milly Alcock revealed her Supergirl cape is made from the same material as Christopher Reeve’s Superman.

My cape in this film was remade using material from the original Superman cape. Yeah, I think that they found there was like 16 meters of that material, so yeah, that’s in the back of my cape now.

Twilight of the Dead

Daily Dead reports Greg Nicotero has joined the make-up effect teams of Twilight of the Dead, the final installment of the late George Romero’s Living Dead saga starring Kate Beckinsale.

Death Stranding

In conversation with Bloody-Disgusting, director Michael Sarnoski stated the Death Stranding movie will be “a different kind of dark” than his latest film, The Death of Robin Hood.

It’s not going to be as dark as Robin Hood. That was a movie that really had to capture this kind of visceral violence so that we could go to this deeply soulful place, and feel that contrast, yet also feel how those things coexist in this world. That was really important to me. Death Stranding is a game that deals with heavy stuff like the veil between life and death, isolation, connection, loss, and the distance between people both in space and time generationally. And so it has all of these pretty weighty themes, but it’s also like an adventure game and an adventure movie.

So, I think it will definitely have some darkness to it, because yeah, there are ghosts and things like that in that game. There’s heavy stuff to explore, but I think it’s going to be a different kind of darkness.

I think I like making movies that don’t shy away from the darkness, don’t try and sugarcoat it, don’t try and make it easy, but find a way through it, and a way to integrate it into the light and hope as well. So at the end you don’t feel like you’ve copped out on the dark things to get to the light, but that you’ve found a way to properly bring both of those things into yourself. That’s what we needed to do, because there’s no escaping the darkness and the death, and the sadness and all that stuff of life, but we have to find ways to still be good to ourselves and good to other people through that.

Sex Criminals

Deadline reports Pamela Adlon and BD Wong have joined the cast of the Sex Criminals TV series. Adlon will play Bev, Suze’s mom, opposite Wong as Oliver, “a bank manager with a connection to Bev and Suze.” The outlet also confirm Kumail Nanjiani will play a character named Dane.

Twisted Metal

Deadline also reports Mark Hamill has joined the cast of Twisted Metal season three as Pope Charlie Kane, “the leader of the Eastern Sovereignty and Sweet Tooth’s estranged father.”
