A renegade member of the N-Gage Special Forces speaks out

A member of the N-Gage Special Forces (Nokia’s street team promoting the phone) who wishes to remain anonymous wrote in to say that those low sales figures are pretty accurate. But it gets even worse:

During my demos I never encountered anyone who already owned the product nor did anyone seem very interested in a new phone from nokia that has to be held sideways. Beyond what I physically saw on the street, another place where anyone can see how many people are actually using it is Nokia’s own N-Gage Arena. I only had Pandemonium and Tomb Raider, but both have about 100 people logged in – and it’s not like there is a money issue or lengthy sign up process – you hit one button and type in your preferred user name and that’s it – no passwords or personal info….Please, Sony, add GSM service to the PSP [their forthcoming portable PlayStation] and watch the Nokia fade as the worst idea in console history.

Ouch! Seriously, it’s gotta hurt to have someone from your own street team saying stuff that.
