Might as well resign yourself to watching Avengers: Age of Ultron twice — once when the movie premieres in theaters this Friday, and again when it comes out later this year on Blu-ray... as an extended edition with a new, different ending. Somehow I imagine this won’t put too many of you out.

The news comes from Amazon UK, or rather, The Telegraph, who got it from a release issued to customers by Amazon UK. Given that director Joss Whedon’s original cut of the movie was like three and a half hours long — and has had an hour-plus of footage trimmed off — this really isn’t the most surprising of news. But it does feel weird to know that there’ll be a different ending coming later, before we’ve even see the first one.

Although... I wonder if the “alternate ending” will in fact be just a post-credits sequence, since there isn’t one in Age of Ultron’s theatrical release. I guess it would feel like kind of a rip-off for an “alternate ending” to be simply be an extra scene, but if that extra scene includes the first appearance of Black Panther or Captain Marvel? Somehow I think I’d get over it.
