You’ve probably seen all eight Harry Potter movies dozens of times, but you’ve never seen them like this.
Leading up to the November 18 release of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Warner Bros. is teaming up with IMAX to rerelease all of the original films in the large screen format, which includes the first time ever Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets will be screened in IMAX.
The screenings begin October 13 with a special presentation of new footage from Fantastic Beasts. After that, the Potter screenings begin and will take place over the next several days. Theaters have the options of selling tickets in a bunch of ways, including single movie, full access and three/four movie daily packages. All the information and theater listings are on the IMAX website here.
This feels like a smart play for the company. Though the trailers for Fantastic Beasts lean heavily into the fact these films take place in the same Wizarding World, the more they can connect with Harry Potter the better.
