Froyo has been on the cards longer than I can remember, but thanks to a TechCrunch exclusive we now know that Android 2.2 will also support USB tethering for data connection, plus be able to create Wi-Fi hotspots.

Yep, Froyo looks to be all about the connections, but it will also have full Flash support and be much faster too—up to 450 per cent faster than Android 2.1. It’s not known whether all carriers that will sell Android 2.2 phones will actually support tethering (AT&T infamously doesn’t support it for iPhones), but with Google’s might I’m sure there’ll be no problem. Right, guys? [TechCrunch]
