Antelope: Game Over

Every so often internet radio will just up and hand you a real gift, a little obscure sonic candy you never would have known about otherwise. And I have to thank ~2009 Pandora for handing me “Game Over” by Antelope.

According to a deleted Wikipedia page, Antelope is an “alternative rock” band that was active in Washington D.C. from 2001 to 2008, with two EPs and one full-length album, Reflector. That’s all beside the point though. The point is this: oh my god that bassline. It’s just so fun. So hypnotically fun. “Game Over” has a very, very vampy style, but what more could you ask for with a bassline that fun to listen to?

If you listen to the rest of Antelope’s stuff (their self-titled EP, for instance), you’ll find they’re something of a one-trick pony, but the trick is good enough that it doesn’t really matter. Now if you’ll excuse my, I have to try and get that bassline out of my head by listening to it 30 more times. [Spotify, Amazon, iTunes]

Note: Oh and please excuse the WEIRD VID. Apparently that’s the kinda sorta officialish music video, I guess?
