Apple Pay is set to launch on October 20. So if you have an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus and you’re in the U.S., you’ll be able to start paying for your Walgreens haul on your phone next Monday.
Tim Cook described how Apple Pay will work in greater detail than before, confirming earlier reports that Apple Pay features deep integration with banks. Apple has added over 500 banking partnerships since announcing Apple Pay. Apple Pay will be built into Passbook, and it’ll work online and in-app.
You’ll also be able to use Apple Pay to make online purchases on the iPad Air 2 and the iPad Mini 3.
“It’s easy, it’s secure, and yes, it’s a private way to pay for things,” Cook said. “We think it’s going to be profound.”
