When Apple added Thunderbolt to their computers, many assumed that Apple’s support for USB 3.0 hit the back burner. Not entirely true. According to VR-Zone, Apple’s still looking to add USB 3.0 to their products and may even do it before Intel does it.

Supposedly, USB 3.0 host controllers have gotten cheap enough that Apple can now justify adding them in. Intel’s timeline to include USB 3.0 in their chips is sometime next year. Remember, USB 3.0 is 10x faster than your USB 2.0 port now for speeds of up to 5Gbs (Thunderbolts is twice as fast as USB 3.0). [Vr-Zone via Apple Insider]
