A story on the Mac Observer mentions that Apple has been granted a design patent for a slate-like tablet computer. For the record, this is the same tablet reported by The Register back in August, so don’t get too excited about it yet. We’d love for Apple to take a stab at a tablet pc—and they’ve obviously considered it—but this patent really doesn’t mean we should expect one anytime soon, if ever.
